Welcome to Warwick! This simple, six-step guide is to help you get started.
1. Access to your ITS Account
You will use your ITS Account to access most of the services we provide. You are usually asked to register for it in our new students' welcome site. Your username is usually your University ID preceded by the letter U (e.g. U1234567). You can also recover your username or password if you forget them.
2. Get online
Use your ITS Account to connect to the hotspot-secure Wi-Fi network while studying. If you are moving into on-campus accommodation you can access the resnet-secure Wi-Fi network or the wired network using the connection points provided.
3. Access to your email
4. Install your essentials
Get ready for your studies with your free license of Office 365, available to you while you’re a student at Warwick. Protect your computer with an anti-virus software. Assistive technology is also available to all students.
5. Print and scan
We offer you unlimited onsite support for your computer at a competitive price of £30 per academic year when you purchase it within the first 30 days of the first term. This service is provided in partnership with XMA, and it includes assistance with common problems with your device such as configuring your network access, software installation, recovery from virus attacks and other helpful services. It does not include any hardware parts that may need to be replaced.
Most laptops or computers will work on the University network. We support PCs, Linux machines and Macs. If you are required to use any specific software that your machine cannot run, you can use one of the computers in the work areas we provide. If you are planning to buy a new computer, you can get a student discount from several retailers. We offer the following services for students:
Finally, for general support during your time at Warwick, there is a website called My Warwick specifically aimed at students. You will find links to the Library, campus maps, your student records online, news and other helpful information.
