Q: Can you tell us about the type of work you were doing?
A: Processing and raising invoices, goods receipting, analysis of costs and research reports.
Q: Why did you become an apprentice?
A: I liked the idea of learning in a practical way and it’s certainly worked out that way.
Q: Why did you choose the University of Warwick?
A: My strength is numbers, so when I saw the role description working in a Finance office at the University of Warwick I went for it.
Q: What was the highlight of your apprenticeship?
A: My birthday. When I came into the office my team had decorated my desk and bought me a birthday cake! That just sums up how welcoming they have been and how I really feel part of the team.
Q: Which bits did you enjoy the least?
A: Just the usual ‘getting started’ in my very first work place. Understanding the processes and meeting lots of new people.
Q: What are your plans for the future?
A: To complete my apprenticeship and fingers crossed there will be a role for me at Warwick at the end.
Q: What would you say to someone who was considering joining an apprenticeship?
A: If you put the effort in you’ll enjoy it. You learn so much and you’re treated as an adult.
