Academic Writing: Finding Funding and Writing Funding Proposals

This workshop aims to support delegates in articulating the research projects they want to pursue. The workshop will offer guidance on how to narrow funding searches with support from experienced staff. The workshop will then look at ways of helping delegates translate existing or new projects into effective proposals for funding streams.

Who should attend?

Research Active Staff (Research, Academic or Teaching terms & conditions) currently developing projects which they want to acquire funding for.
We do not accept applications from postgraduates or research students. Students should refer to the Student Career and Skills website for details of workshops designed specifically to meet their needs.

Workshop objectives:

  • To cover the essentials of writing project proposals: articulating what you want to do clearly and identifying impact
  • To peer review individual project proposals from participants
  • To provide an overview of the help available through Warwick's dedicated research development staff and a chance to ask questions of experienced staff
  • To interrogate the language used by different funding streams and identify ways of translating your project into the necessary keywords and components of a successful proposal.
