Mid Career Researcher Programme (for Associate Professors, Professors and/or Readers)
Overview:
This programme has been designed to support mid-career academics in Associate Professor, Professor and/or Reader roles to evaluate their career progression and to develop implementable plans for enhancing career development.
Modules:
The workshop will take place over three 2 hour workshops. You must be able to attend all three modules of the programme.
Who should attend?
This development opportunity is open to Grade 8 or 9 Research Active Staff (Research-focused, Teaching-focused and Research & Teaching contracts) only. A minimum of 10 participants are required for each session to run.
Leadership and Management Development do not accept applications from PGRs. PGRs should refer to the Research Development at the Doctoral College.
Workshop enables Research Active Staff (RAS) to:
- Identify and articulate your career vision and goals.
- Enable you to reflect on your strengths, weaknesses, and the barriers you face moving forward within your career.
- Enable you to develop an implementable plan for supporting your career development including tactics for building reputation, collaboration and managing workload.
- Discuss, share ideas, and learn from colleagues.
Workshop Pre-work:
Participants will be emailed any pre-work prior to the workshop.
Learning Hours:
This programme takes approximately 6 learning hours. This includes any pre-course/programme work, attendance at workshops, experiential (‘on-the’job’) learning, coaching and post-course/programme work.
