Senior Residential Community Assistants 2025 - 2026
Senior Residential Community Assistants
Senior Residential Community Assistants (SRCAs) hold all the responsibilities of a Residential Community Assistant (RCA), with additional duties as mentors within the team. SRCAs act as a key link between the RCA team and senior management (Residential Community Coordinators, RCCs), taking responsibility for leading shifts, allocating tasks and ensuring their completion, and escalating concerns to Community Safety when an RCC is not on duty.
In this role, you will contribute to Community Wellbeing, Community Behaviour, Community Engagement, and Community Building across the Warwick residential community. You will support RCCs and the Head of Service in enhancing the work of the Residential Community Team (RCT), helping to create inclusive hall communities that foster belonging and promote both physical and mental wellbeing.
SRCAs work 12–15 hours per week throughout the academic year, including vacation periods, and take part in an on‑call rota (with the exception of student visa holders, who are not eligible to work on‑call). During shifts, you will respond to incidents, engage proactively with residents to promote wellbeing, and support the University’s discipline process by upholding Warwick’s Values and behavioural expectations.
You will also provide leadership to RCAs during shifts, offering operational oversight, ensuring tasks are completed, and using your initiative to problem‑solve. At times when no RCC is on campus, you will be expected to monitor provision, escalate urgent welfare concerns to Community Safety, and pass on non‑urgent operational matters to the next RCC as part of a clear and thorough handover.
Please ensure you have read the SRCA Candidate Information PackLink opens in a new window before you apply and that you can attend all mandatory dates as outlined.
