Social Inclusion - Statement of Intent
The University of Warwick is committed to thriving on difference and seeks to remove economic, social, and cultural barriers that have prevented people from working, studying, and succeeding here.
We believe that our ingenuity, energy, and resilience come from our diverse community and we actively seek out different perspectives to stimulate ideas and empathy.
Our Social Inclusion Strategy, overseen by the Social Inclusion Strategy Team, sets out how we will increase the diversity of our staff and students to maximise the creativity and innovation of our talent, develop a culture that supports students and staff in achieving their potential, and become a recognised leader in social inclusion.
The strategy is underpinned by
- Our Dignity Principles Policy, which ensures we comply with the Equality Act 2010 whilst setting out how behave as a community, both as individuals and as an institution, as well as informing our approach to taking appropriate action when these expectations are not met.
- Other relevant policies which promote equity and inclusion, for example but not limited to, reasonable adjustments and family-friendly policies.
- Codes of Conduct and Guidance which assist our community to drive an inclusive culture.
