Volunteer Faith Advisers wanted

April 2021.

 

The University’s Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is looking for members of staff and postgraduate research students in good standing with their community of faith to act in a voluntary capacity as Faith Advisers within the institution. You would be a point of contact for students of faith looking for information and support and would become an honorary member of the wider Chaplaincy team.

Time commitment for the role is based on an Adviser’s availability and is expected to be around 0.5 to 3 hours per week in term time.

The Chaplaincy are, in particular, looking for members of the Sikh, Hindu, and Buddhist religions, as these groups have Student Union faith societies but no representation within the current Chaplaincy team.

Update: Appointment of Buddhist and Sikh Faith Advisers

August 2021.

 

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy team are delighted to announce the appointment of three Faith Advisers from amongst the University of Warwick community. Professor Vicki Squire (Buddhist Faith Adviser), Professor Nattavudh (Nick) Powdthavee (Buddhist Faith Adviser), and Dr Harjinder Singh Lallie (Sikh Faith Adviser) will work alongside Chaplains to extend the Chaplaincy’s offer of support and guidance beyond faith communities currently represented. Faith Advisers are a point of contact for staff and students and can help with signposting to local resources and providing guidance.
