Invitation to take part in race equality surveys

November 2020.

You are invited to take part in Warwick’s race equality staff surveyLink opens in a new window and/or student surveyLink opens in a new window. The survey is running from Wednesday 4 November to Tuesday 24 November 2020 and forms part of a wider piece of work towards an application for Advance HE’s Race Equality CharterLink opens in a new window.

The Race Equality Charter provides a nationally recognised framework through which institutions can self-reflect on barriers standing in the way of their minority ethnic staff and students, and develop initiatives and solutions to address any inequalities they discover. Overseen by the University’s Race Equality TaskforceLink opens in a new window, our Race Equality Charter Self-Assessment Team are currently undertaking an evaluation of the institution and would welcome your input.

We want to hear from you on where you think our weaknesses lie and where we have strengths we can build upon. By completing the survey, you will help us to identify areas for improvement and ways to make those improvements. The more information you provide us with, the more we will understand where and how we need to improve so that we can address inequalities where they exist and break down barriers in the representation, progression, development and success of our current and future minority ethnic staff and students.

Everything you say in the survey will stay completely confidential. At no point will the information you provide be shared in a way that would allow you to be personally identified. Any published material will be fully anonymised and all data will be held confidentially in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act. Throughout the survey, you are invited to answer only the questions with which you are comfortable.

The survey is just one of the ways you can be involved and we will be communicating regularly over the next few months to keep you up to date with our work on this and to seek your input. If you would like any further information about our involvement in Advance HE’s Race Equality Charter in the meantime, please see our Race Equality Charter webpage or contact Catherine McStay on RECM@warwick.ac.uk.

The closing date for completing your race equality survey is Tuesday 24 November 2020.

Thank you for your support.
