Rainbow Allies Relaunch
May 2021.
We have been working in collaboration with the Rainbow Taskforce to revise the LGBTQUA+ Supporter Scheme, which was originally launched in the 2017.
The new scheme - the Rainbow Allies programme - is now open for new Allies to register, please note existing Supporters do not need to re-register.
The Rainbow Allies programme exists to empower members of our community to create an open, safe, and inclusive environment for all LGBTQUA+ colleagues, students, and visitors at Warwick. The Rainbow Allies programme is open to all who commit to being an ally to LGBTQUA+ people. We do encourage anyone who identifies as LGBTQUA+ to also join the Staff Network or for students Warwick SU Pride.
A number of new resources have been developed ready for the launch. We encourage you to take a look to learn about all LGBTQUA+ related initiatives which you can share and/or get involved in.
It is important that everyone who signs up is committed to becoming an active ally and advocating for LGBTQUA+ Inclusion therefore the new programme requires you to complete two training modules prior to signing up as a Rainbow Ally, we would ask existing Supporters to also undertake these modules if you haven’t done so already.
As part of the launch we have invited Sean Russell from ‘Get Out, Stay Out’ to deliver a two hour Rainbow Allies Training session to anyone who has Line Manager/Supervisory/HR responsibilities. The training will be held via Teams on Tuesday 12 May, if you would like to register to take part in this training please complete the line manager training registration form.
