Social Impact
The University of Warwick is committed to being a leader in social inclusion. Through innovative practice, cutting-edge research, and impactful community engagement, we aim to shape the conversation and drive progress towards a more inclusive future.
Our social impact work is an important part of this - by leading on inclusion and social sustainability, we are shaping a fairer society for all. These projects address the complex interplay of social, economic, and environmental challenges to enhance wellbeing, equality, and opportunity.

Since 2021, Warwick has proudly partnered with the EY Foundation to deliver a life-changing series of employability programmes designed for young people aged 16-19. These programmes equip young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with skills and experience to obtain productive employment and decent work.
As a result of our partnership with the EY Foundation programmes, the Social Inclusion team have launched an Internship Programme for young people who have participated in an employability programme. This initiative creates jobs for young people to promote sustained and inclusive employment.
The National Scientific Thinking Challenge is an online science challenge consisting of a set of problems that focus on thinking like a scientist – looking at skills like deduction, analysis, and problem solving. This initiative shines a light on some exceptional early career scientists, unlocking their imagination and developing their self-belief.
Our Social Inclusion Strategy sets out our ambition to be a place where everyone has the opportunity to reach their potential.
Through this Strategy, the University aspires to remove economic, social, and cultural barriers that have prevented people from working, studying and succeeding at Warwick, and to be recognised as best in class in its approach to equality, diversity and inclusion, for staff and students by 2030. You can read the strategy and our key performance indicators in full on our webpages.
