5. Serving

Once you are on serve, you may choose from which side of the court to begin serving.

6. Lets

If your opponent accidentally or deliberately blocks your movement towards the ball, your view of the ball, or your ability to return the ball safely, call a ‘let’ and replay the point. (You may also use a ‘let’ if you are unsure whether a ball was out or whether a ball had bounced twice before being played.) You must then alternate sides from the second point onwards. There are no second serves.

7. Strokes

If your opponent hits the ball and it rebounds directly to them, call a ‘stroke’. The point is yours.

8. Injuries

If you or your opponent are injured during a game, please seek first aid from the reception desk. If you are unable to continue the match, you may either agree with your opponent to continue the match at a later date or to award your opponent a‘walkover’ victory; likewise if you are unable to make the scheduled match slot.

This is a friendly league for recreational players of different levels of ability. Please be goodnatured and sporting to each other and enjoy your matches. Please be considerate to your opponent and keep their safety (and your own) in mind when playing the ball or swinging your racquet.
