Jamie Wimborne

About Jamie

"Racing for Cycle Team OnForm in 2019, I had my most successful season to date, and I attribute a large part of this to the scholarship programme.

I gained my 1st category racing licence, and won four races, including one at National Level. Next year I am looking to gain my Elite category licence (the highest available in the UK), to win a National B level road race and place highly at National Series races. I am also looking forward to representing Warwick at BUCS, especially in the road race which is my favoured event. Off the bike I am studying Modern Language (French and Spanish) and I hope to spend my third year abroad racing in France. A fun fact about me would be that I held a black belt in karate before getting into cycling.

I have previously found the S&C programme and free gym membership of particular use in my training. It has allowed me to prepare my body for the rigours of bike racing, and I have developed a stronger core thanks to it and can now hold a more aggressive position on the bike, for longer. I am sure that these aspects of the programme, along with the financial support for which I am extremely grateful, will be of great use in my preparation for the 2020 season. "
