Being a part of the University of Warwick Snooker and Billiards club has been an invaluable experience that has shaped my time at Warwick.

From the moment I joined, I was welcomed into a vibrant community full of passionate players who were all keen to improve their game. The club is run by enthusiastic committee members who always strive to make sure everyone feels included and supported.

I joined Snooker and Billiards in my first year and found the weekly sessions were great for meeting new people, playing against different opponents and getting some much-needed practice in before tournaments. It’s also been helpful to be able to discuss tactics with other experienced players after matches, as well as getting tips from more advanced members on how best to play certain shots or handle tricky situations during games.

I have also had the opportunity to take part in various competitions around the country which has allowed me to travel while still being involved with snooker and billiards at university level - something that wouldn't have been possible without joining this club.

Participating in these events has enabled me to develop my skills further while making friends along the way; it's definitely one of the highlights of being a member here.

In addition, having access to quality equipment such as cues, tables and balls makes practicing even more enjoyable - no matter what your skill level may be! This means you can easily find someone willing (and available) for a quick game whenever you feel like it – something that can be hard when relying solely on public facilities outside campus grounds.

I became the Events Secretary for the club after my first year. This gave me the opportunity to affect how we reach out to current members and how we get more people to join in. I received training on how to organise events and gained valuable communications skills.

Having been to some job interviews, I can say that it helps you stand out from the crowd. Employers want go getters who care about the work they do, being an exec demonstrates this.

All things considered, I would highly recommend joining any sports club at Warwick if you're looking for ways to meet new people while doing something fun in your spare time. Being part of the University of Warwick Snooker & Billiards Club has certainly enriched my university experience, giving me plenty of opportunities, both socially and competitively, both in the club and other universities.
