My name is Moh Huda, and I am currently a PhD student in Mathematics department and I have been playing Badminton for 4 years now. My journey started in 2019 when I joined the Badminton club and the Badminton Rock up activity in the same year.

Playing Badminton was just for fun at beginning, but eventually the more I played, the more I wanted to compete in a tournament.

The first tournament I competed in was in the Badminton league held by the Warwick sports. Then last year, I played Badminton in BUCS representing the Warwick Badminton team. I also played for some local tournaments held by the University of Warwick Badminton club and also the Sea Games badminton competition, which is the badminton tournaments for South East Asian country students. Additionally, I also got to play in the Badminton Olympic tournament which is for all Indonesian students studying in the UK.

The University of Warwick offers a lot of opportunities for students to be involved in sports, from recreational opportunities through the Rock up and play activity, to more competitive ones, such as the Warwick League and the BUCS tournament.

Sports, especially Badminton, has been a big part of my university life. It has helped me balance my educational life and social life which contributes a lot to my wellbeing.

As a PhD student, I have a lot of work to do every day and I now realise that without playing Badminton to refresh my body and mind, I may go insane and not be able to work effectively.

My favourite thing has been meeting new people. In my time here, Team Warwick has helped me to create more connections and friends through the Badminton Rock up and the Warwick league. I have met a lot of people with different educational backgrounds and cultures from all over the world, such as China, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Mexico and many more. Having new friends is a great feeling.
