Warwick scholar brings home 2 World Para-athletics Championships silver medals

Kare said “It felt really good picking up those medals and I was really pleased with my performance. It’s been a big year for me, finishing my A-Levels and starting university, so I was pleased to get a PB in the 800m.

With the support of the Warwick Sport performance team, Kare said “Since joining the University of Warwick I have had a full support team that enable me to study alongside continuing my training.’ The new refurbishment of the athletics track has been beneficial and accessible for Kare’s training and now has Mondotrack surface, making it the ideal surface for wheelchair racing.

This is an incredible achievement for Kare and for the University of Warwick. Lisa Dodd-Mayne, Director of Sport and Active Communities at the University of Warwick, said: “Kare is an inspiration to students at the University of Warwick, a huge advocate for promoting active and healthy lifestyles, and also does fantastic work in local communities too."
