Learning mobility (KA1)

Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1) enables Learning Mobility of Individuals in Higher Education by offering funding for students and staff to go on an exchange abroad.

International mobility, whether physical or online, is a key driver in University of Warwick's International strategic goals. The Erasmus+ Programme is an important mechanisms to facilitate this. With the UK's association to Erasmus+ recommencing in 2027 the University of Warwick will participates in all activities of Erasmus+ KA1 in 2027/28. This will offer various funding opportunities to both students and staff, outgoing candidates from University of Warwick as well as incoming candidates from University of Warwick's international partners.

Continued UK participation in Erasmus+ for 2028 and beyond is dependent on subsequent negotiations between the UK government and European Commission.

Study abroad opportunities

Study and work abroad

Students can either study abroad at a partner higher education institution or carry out a traineeship in an enterprise, a research institute, a laboratory, an organisation or any other relevant workplace abroad.

This can be a physical or a blended mobility (where physical mobility and online international learning are blended).

The blended opportunities recognise the need to offer more flexible physical mobility duration to ensure the programme is accessible to students from all backgrounds, circumstances and fields of study.

Blended Intensive Programmes

BIPs are 5-30 days and are delivered by at least three higher education institutions from three different programme countries.

BIPS are designed for students who wish to study abroad for a short period of time and provide all students the opportunity to engage in international exchange, with a particular focus on those who are unsure of, or may not have any other opportunities for, long-term mobility

BIPs integrate two key components:

Physical mobility component
Virtual component that facilitates collaborative online learning and teamwork
