This 3 hour session aims to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and build confidence in responding to others experiencing mental health difficulties. Led by: Dr Katherine Simons, University of Warwick Mental Health Trainer Who is it for? All staff at the University of Warwick Session Objectives: We all have a state of mental and physical health which fluctuates depending on several factors, some of which are under our control, some of which are not. Just as some individuals are more susceptible to physical ill health, so some individuals may be more susceptible to poor mental health. In this session you will learn about some of the factors which lead to the development of a range of mental health issues and also how to respond appropriately to individuals who are exhibiting signs of mental health distress. The content has been designed by experienced mental health professionals working at the University of Warwick to provide a bespoke, professional training to all staff. Each session can accommodate up to 20 delegates. It is offered on a range of dates and times - including lark and twilight sessions - throughout the academic year to ensure that all staff have the opportunity to attend.
