Psychological and Emotional Support for Warwick Staff by Warwick Staff

The University of Warwick has a range of individual support options available to its staff members, including individual therapy, through the Employee Assistance Programme offered by the provider Health Assured.

However, we are aware that some members of staff may like to speak to a professional therapist who is familiar with the Warwick staff community, someone who has a lived experience and understanding of the specific Warwick context because they work in the same organisation. To that end, we are offering one off individual therapy appointments for Warwick colleagues with one of our professional team of qualified, experienced Counsellors and Psychologists who are based in Wellbeing and Student Support. We aim to be able to offer colleagues an appointment date within a maximum of a couple of weeks of receiving your completed registration form.

We anticipate these therapy sessions will be an opportunity for Warwick staff to identify what is going on for them emotionally and to consider some personalised strategies to manage their distress, which are tailored to each individual. The therapist will also help staff members to identify the best next steps for them.

Confidentiality:

All our appointments are being delivered as video therapy sessions using Microsoft Teams. Please be assured that this platform is secure to protect your privacy. All sessions will be confidential between you and the therapist only (except if there are significant concerns for safety - more details available when you arrange the appointment). A brief record of your appointment may be kept by the Psychological Therapist and stored securely within a password protected drive accessible only by Wellbeing and Student Support Psychological Therapists.

Please note that all appointments will be arranged via the Wellbeing and Student Support Administration Team who will treat all registrations as strictly confidential.
