A brief background,

Starting from childhood, I had a strong sense of respect towards nature. At that time, I was both fascinated and saddened by the interaction between nature and humans. As I progressed in my education I took place in studies concerning environmental problems. In order to understand the chaotic order of how nature works, I started my undergraduate studies in the field of Molecular Biology. That is where I first discovered and got charmed by the resiliance of plants against many challenges. Be it biotic or abiotic in origin, plants evolved to surpass those hardships. These thoughts laid the basis of my MSc research as I investigated Boron toxicity based abiotic stress tolerance mechanisms in Puccinellia distans. However, I was not satisfied by the static mechanism of abiotic stress tolerance. I was yearning for an ever changing, and challenging mechanism which I found in biotic stress resistance of plants. That is why, I am currently carrying out my PhD on mechanisms of infection resistance of plants in University of Warwick School of Life Sciences.
