English Language

If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide evidence of an English language qualification to demonstrate your ability. This could be an IELTS or TOEFL examination, for example. Further information for the English Language requirements can be found below:

Entry Requirements

UndergraduateLink opens in a new window: The below requirements are based on the Higher Education Preparatory Diploma being from within one of the six higher education preparatory programmes streams:

A Level 

Högskoleförberedande examen (Higher Education Preparatory Diploma) OR Avgångsbetyg / Slutbetyg fran Gymnasleskolan (Upper Secondary School Certificate) 

A*A*A* 

Pass the overall qualification, including obtaining grade A in 2400 credits with no subjects below C.

A*A*A 

Pass the overall qualification, including obtaining grade A in 2200 credits with no subjects below C.  

A*AA 

Pass the overall qualification, including obtaining grade A in 2000 credits with no subjects below C. 

AAA 

Pass the overall qualification, including obtaining grade A in 1700 credits with no subjects below C.  

AAB 

Pass the overall qualification, including obtaining grade A in 1400 credits with no subjects below C and grade B in a further 800 credits.  

ABB 

Pass the overall qualification, including obtaining grade A in 1100 credits with no subjects below C and grade B in a further 700 credits. 

BBB 

Pass the overall qualification, including obtaining grade A in 800 credits with no subjects below C and grade B in a further 1000 credits.

Typically we require a Kandidatexamen (min 180 credits) from a recognised institution, for entry onto our postgraduate courses, with the following equivalencies:

UK Classification Grading System UG (VG-U) Grading System 5U (5-U) Grading System AF (A-F)
1st 80 credits including a minimum of 110 credits at VG and 70 credits at G. 5 out of 5/ AB / Med beröm godkänd (Pass with distinction) 180 credits including a minimum of 100 credits at A and 80 credits at B
2:1 180 credits including a minimum of 90 credits at VG and 90 credits at G. 4 out of 5/ BA / Icke utan beröm godkänd (Pass with merit) 180 credits with a minimum of B in all credits.
2:1 180 credits including a minimum of 40 credits at VG and 140 credits at G. 3 out of 5/ / B / Godkänd (Pass) 180 credits with a minimum of C in all credits.
