Code of Conduct
At the University of Warwick, we deeply value the strong relationships we have built with our international recruitment agents over the years. These partnerships are integral to our mission of attracting diverse and talented students from around the world. We expect all our agents to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, adhering to our code of conduct that outlines clear expectations on how they should represent our institution and engage with prospective students. Together, we are committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and ethical recruitment process that reflects the values of our university.
The following Code of Conduct follows closely the existing Guide to Good Practice for Education Agents, which was published by the British Council. This should be read in conjuction with the following.
- Agents shall at all times conduct themselves with integrity, and act in the best interests of prospective students, students, stakeholders as well as the University of Warwick. All advice provided should be honest and comprehensive, and notknowingly or by a failure of professional standards provide or disseminate false, incomplete or misleading information. All agents should provide information on the University of Warwick, its facilities, its admissions processes including entry requirements, the course conten as well as fees and living costs.
- We expect our agents to be reliable, professional, honest and trustworthy in all aspects of interactions and agent activities.
- The advice and information you provide as an agent representing the University of Warwick must be consistent with the UK Competition and Markets Authority Advice on Consumer Protection Law. It is your responsibility to be familiar with this guidance.
- The information you provide to prospective students must be accurate and comprehensive, allowing them to make informed decisions. Agents must not omit any facts in their published materials or verbal communications that could reasonably be considered important to a student, where such omissions could be seen as misleading. The unintentional dissemination of incorrect or incomplete information may be considered a breach of professional standards unless there is compelling evidence to suggest otherwise.
- Agents shall promote themselves and the University of Warwick fairly and without recourse to unfavourable, inaccurate, misleading or negative comparisons with other universities. Nor shall they employ unfair or unprofessional practice to damage the interests of other institutions.
- Agents must conduct themselves with full consideration of the regulatory conditions in the markets where they operate, ensuring compliance with all relevant national laws, regulations, and official policies.
