Student Profile: Hsuan-Wen Huang
Discover Hsuan-Wen's journey at Warwick and what led them to apply for the BSc Management |
How did you hear about Warwick?
Through family friends.
Where else did you consider studying?/ Where did your friends or siblings go?
I also applied to University in the US such as UCSD and Purdue University. And I considered going to National Taiwan University as well. My friends mainly study in the USA, Taiwan and Japan.
Why did you choose Warwick over other UK universities and other universities in the world?
In general it’s more affordable than America and I did not really like the education system and atmosphere in Taiwan, so regardless of the university ranking, it wasn’t that appealing to me. Also, I’m really interested in getting into the path of marketing, which WBS is very famous for.
Was your arrival and orientation okay? What were your first impressions/highlights?
Yes, I felt like the campus is modern compared to other universities I considered such as Edinburgh.
What is the best thing about Warwick?
It’s more affordable for a university area.
What are your impressions of your accommodation? Is this on campus/off campus?
I lived in Cryfield Townhouse. It was very nice and accessible to everything.
Are you a member of any societies? If so, what have you done with them?
Memory Lane Cafe, I did volunteering there. I was in a few events of ABACUS and this year I’m a exec of Taiwanese Society.
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
I would like to get in to a PR or marketing related career path.
If you were giving advice to a student considering study at Warwick, what advice would you give them?
Don’t try too hard to fit in that you can’t find who you truly are.
What one thing makes you happy about Warwick?
I met my boyfriend here.
