How did you find out about Warwick?

I heard about Warwick through UK and global rankings available online.

Did you consider studying anywhere else? What made you choose Warwick?

Warwick has a good course ranking in the course I wanted to take and I believed it would be easier for me to create a strong foundation for my career in entrepreneurship. Moreover, I was awarded the scholarship which made the decision indefinitely easier.

How did you feel to be awarded a scholarship?

I was extremely grateful and felt really proud of myself in the moment. It completely changed what I had planned the next few years to look like, bringing a lot of uncertainty and excitement.

Who was the first person you told when you received the news about your scholarship and how did they react?

I read the email when I woke up in the morning in my bed and the first people to know were my sisters. They were extremely happy and hugged me.

How did you apply and did anyone help you with your application form and visa application?

For the scholarship I applied on my own without any help from other people, my family and friends just read the answers towards the end. For the visa application I hired a visa consultant who helped me during the process. I did not encounter any major difficulties.

What was your first impression of Warwick when you first walked around campus?

I thought the student body is diverse.

What is the best thing about Warwick?

The teaching style is very flexible and is accommodating for all.

What is the worst thing?

There is a lot of coursework which can be hard to keep up with especially as most of it does not happen in classrooms.

How is your accommodation?

I was pleasantly surprised because my accommodation had bad reviews online. My accommodation is on campus.

Are you a member of any societies?

Yes I am a part of many societies including the Warwick Consulting Society, Warwick Risk Management Society, Warwick Emerging Markets Society, Warwick EQ Society and Warwick Islamic Society. I have been attending their events and networking with fellow students who share the same interests.

What are your plans when you graduate?

I hope I can land a job in one of the big consulting firms which gives me an opportunity to gain experience that will help me set a strong foundation in my career of entrepreneurship ahead.

What would you say to someone considering applying for an Undergraduate Global Excellence scholarship at Warwick, what would it be?

I think it would be to be completely honest in your answers, make sure you write what you really believe in, discuss your real reasons even if you feel that your answers aren't different enough.
