We kick-started Year 13 of our Pathways to Banking & Finance programme last month, with 68 students joining from cohorts at the University of Warwick and London School of Economics. During the event, students participated in a mock assessment centre, learning all about why employers use this method of assessment, practicing typical activities they might experience and receiving feedback and top tips from professionals. In total we had 24 professionals joining us from 7 different financial firms including Deutsche Bank, Jefferies, Schroders, Bank of America, Bloomberg, PwC and Capital One! Students were able to work through a group exercise and present back to a professional, whilst receiving feedback. Students were also given the opportunity to practice an individual in-tray exercise, psychometric testing and participate in an interview roundtable with professionals. Feedback from students and professionals were both excellent and it was clear despite the event having to take place digitally, the students still learnt a lot of key skills from the event which they can use after they graduate from the Pathways programme. We look forward to seeing the students again at the next event!
