Team Application Challenge

So you're interested in participating in The Big Deal 2014

Great! All you need to do is get a team of 3 or 4 year 10 UniTracks members* at your school together and complete this challenge by midnight on Tuesday 4 February . Successful teams will then be invited to The Big Deal 2014 Launch at Warwick Business School, the University of Warwick on 14 February.

So, what is this challenge? Well, what you need to do is watch the video and answer the following questions. If you want to watch the video offline, we can send you a copy. Once you've watched the video (it's about 45 minutes long and is in Windows Media Player format, download the player for free here), then answer the questions on the right. The video should work without issue on Windows-equipped machines, but if you follow the plugin directions you should be able to get it to work on Macintosh systems, tablets, or other devices.

***Please note: This video works best on Internet Explorer; you may have issues on Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. The sound in the video is about a second out of sync with the images. We are very sorry about this and are trying to rectify the situation. You can also download the video here (it's a large file, nearly 250Mb, so please give it some time). It's the sound that's really important, so if the video is an issue please just turn your screen off and listen to it like you would a podcast.***

We'll be back in touch as soon as possible to let you know how you've done.

Good luck!!

* Please talk to your teacher and the UniTracks Director if you do not have 3 or 4 UniTracks members at your school and would like to participate. Please also note that we can only accept one team per school.

These are the Team Application Challenge Questions:

  1. What are the functions of business operations, as discussed in the video?
  2. How does marketing affect the way businesses run?
  3. Why is scepticism important in business?

You should answer these questions as a team and each answer should be between 100 and 200 words.

Once you're happy with what you've written, you can email your answers to unitracks at warwick dot ac dot uk or send them in to:
