How to meet the conditions of your offer

Your offer will clearly state any conditions you are required to satisfy. Below you will find helpful guidance on how to meet your offer conditions and some short videos to help explain some of the steps of the process. The Admissions Service is working away from the University due to the ongoing pandemic, so please do not post your documents. Bring your original degree certificate and final transcripts with you to Warwick to be checked during your studies. Please let us know if you are not able to provide the documents requested by speaking to one of our colleagues on the live chat.

  • Upload scans of your degree certificate, final transcript and your university's grading scale in the Applicant Portal .Please also upload a scan of your graduation certificate if your university provides one.
  • Document scans should be in colour, clear and easy to read. Collate all of your qualifications into 1 document to allow easy upload.
  • Ensure your degree documents confirm the title of your degree, final mark and the award date. We recommend that you upload both your degree certificate and transcript. If you are providing an official letter from your institution to confirm your award, this should be signed with official letterhead, and needs to confirm the title of your degree, your final mark and the award date. If any information is missing we may not be able to accept the document.
  • If your documents have been issued in a language other than English please also provide an official translation.
  • Once you have uploaded your documents please allow 15 working days for processing.
  • Bring your original degree certificate and final transcripts with you to Warwick to be checked during your studies.
  • If your documents have been issued in a language other than English please also provide an official translation. An official translation is a legally valid translation made by a qualified translator who certifies that the translation corresponds to the information in the source document(s).
  • Ensure your translated documents confirm the title of your degree, final mark and the award date. We recommend that you upload translations of both your degree certificate and transcript.
  • Once we have received your documents please allow 15 working days for processing.
  • Bring your original degree certificate and final transcripts and translations with you to Warwick to be checked during your studies.
  • Your offer letter will state how many references you need to provide.
  • Your reference should be:
    • Academic if you have completed any study in the past 2 years or we can accept a reference from your current line manager or supervisor if you completed your previous study more than 2 years ago
    • Should comment on your academic ability and general suitability for the course

  • If you included your referee's details and email address when making your application they will have been sent a link to upload a reference on your behalf.
  • We are unable to accept references:
    • Sent via email
    • Which you have uploaded to your application (they should come from your referee through the Applicant Portal (or via UCAS if appropriate)
    • From friends or relatives
  • We accept the following English language tests: IELTS (Academic), IELTS for UKVI, Pearson PTE (Academic), TOEFL (iBT), TOEFL (iBT) Special Home Edition, Cambridge Advanced (CAE), Cambridge Proficiency (CPE), and Trinity ISE II, III and IV (for some courses).
  • Your offer may state the scores you need to achieve in in specific components if this is a requirement of the course you applied for. To satisfy offer conditions you must meet or exceed these scores.
  • Details of the required scores in any of the tests we accept can be found on the English language entry requirements..
  • Once you have your test results please upload the test certificate/report form through your Applicant Portal.
  • Test results are valid for two years and one month. If you defer your place to the next academic year you may be required to take a new English language test if the one you submitted previously will no longer be valid when you start the course.
  • Please provide your most recent English language test to meet requirements. Once you have met the English language condition of your offer, you are not required to provide further test certificates.
  • You may choose to take the Pre-sessional English course. More details can be found at Pre-sessional English course.
    • A small number of departments at Warwick ask for a deposit. If your offer includes a deposit requirement this will be clearly stated and include a link to the deposit payment webform. Please contact your department directly if you have any questions about the deposit.
      • If you have been asked to obtain ATAS clearance as part of your offer conditions, the Postgraduate Admissions Service will send you an email that includes a statement for you to use when making your ATAS application.
      • Once you have received your ATAS statement you are ready to apply to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for ATAS clearance.
      • Your ATAS application is free and will take around one hour to complete.
      • Applicants and students should select the Taught/Research student option at the start of the ATAS application form.
      • Provide details of any sponsors you may have for the funding of your proposed studies. If you are meeting all the costs of your studies yourself, please put your own name and address in the relevant boxes. If another family member is meeting the costs, put down their details.
      • Please apply for your ATAS clearance when you are able to, but not more than 6 months in advance of your course start date.
      • The FCDO will send us a decision on your ATAS application, and if your application is approved they will provide us with a copy of your ATAS certificate.
      • We are only able to accept ATAS certificates provided to us direct by the FCDO.

      • If you require a DBS check this will be clearly stated in your offer and we will email you with instructions on how to complete the online DBS application.

        • Arrange for the Academic Registry or Student Support Services of your current institution to provide a letter confirming that you have completed or suspended your studies with them.
        • The letter should:
          • Be provided on letter headed paper
          • Be stamped by the institution and signed by the person issuing the letter
          • Confirm the title of the course you have been studying
          • Confirm the start date of your studies
          • Confirm the end date or suspension date of your studies
          • Confirm that you are not currently studying for a qualification
        Depending on the course you hold an offer for you may need to satisfy some additional conditions.
        • Your offer will state if you need to provide us with your GCSE results. If required, email a scan your GCSE certificate or Certified Statement of Results to the Centre for Teaching Education.
        • We are unable to accept a Provisional Statement of Results or GCSE statements provided by a school.
        • Your offer may state that a skills test is required. Once you have taken a test please email the postgraduate admissions team looking after your application so that your results can be verified online.
        • If you are holding an offer for Teaching or the Graduate Entry Medicine (MBChB) course you may be asked to complete a set of forms to meet the conditions of your offer. You can find the forms at the forms library.
