FAQs
You can find the terms and conditions regarding visa on our website. If you have any concerns about your visa application, you can contact our admissions team on pressadmissions@warwick.ac.uk.
If you are arriving later than the registration times, please let us know on your travel forms. We will then be able to arrange a meet and greet for you with your ambassador for when you arrive.
You will receive your student ID card once you have arrived on campus and registered.
Please note that if you arrive earlier than the 16th July, you will be unable to come to campus early. You will just need to join us for registration on the 16th July when the summer school starts.
Parents or guardians are welcome to join you at registration, however they will be unable to come with you to the halls due to safeguarding. Ambassadors will take you to your halls and help with your luggage.
Yes, however you might want to bring a separate towel for the pool at the Sports and Wellbeing Hub should you wish to use it. Hairdryers or any other electrical equipment will need to be brought separately.
The original deadline was the 7th of June. If you have yet to pay this, please do this as soon as possible. You can access the payment portal here.
Any problems regarding payments please contact the admissions team.
You will receive all the details regarding airport transfers at least a week before your arrival. This will include the pickup location, departure time and the name of the ambassadors meeting you along with their numbers and photos of them, so they are easily identifiable. They will also be wearing ambassador t-shirts and holding up signs.
You will be staying Sherbourne accommodation with your own en-suite bathroom and shared kitchen. There will be 12 people your flat including 10 students and 2 student ambassadors to support you. The flats will be single sex unless you have stated otherwise on your form. Under no circumstances are people allowed to go into each bedrooms or flats they are not assigned to.
No, our campus is cashless. Most places in the UK will accept cashless payments, however you might want to bring some cash with you for any external trips outside the university. There are ATMS available on campus.
The final presentations won’t be graded; however, you will receive some feedback from the teaching staff.
Yes, these are bank card activated. The laundry facilities also have their own detergent and fabric softener added into the machines. We do recommend not to use them if you have any allergies. Your ambassadors will be able to show you where they are and how to use them.
During free time, there will be opportunities to play sport and use our courts. You will need to sign up for this with your ambassadors.
You will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the programme.
No, you will get to meet lots of different people from different subjects and countries throughout the programme.
You will need to make sure you have your application evidence and visa to bring to airport security. If you need any help with what to bring to the airport, please contact our admissions team.
No, on your travel information form you will just need to let us know the details of your flight such as your flight number and your arrival times, so we are able to keep track of any delays etc.
No, these will need to be arranged separately. All of our activities, however, have been risk assessed.
Students will be able to move around campus without ambassador supervision but will need to be with at least two other students. Students will need to keep in contact on WhatsApp with their ambassador to have regular check ins and to let them know where you are. This is to ensure your own safety whilst you are staying on campus. This will be pre-arranged with your ambassador.
Yes, students will be sent daily emails about what is going on as well as in the evening so they can prepare for the next day. Students will also receive a timetable in advance of the whole programme.
Most lunches are not included on the programme, but breakfast and dinner will be. On teaching days, you will be expected to get your own lunch on campus with the ambassadors can help you with if you are not sure where to go. Within most places on campus there would be a £5 - £10 maximum of spending, but this would depend on where you go. There are a variety of cafés and a grocery store available.
Yes, everyone is required to fill out the travel form so we have all the information of how you will be arriving. This is to ensure your safety and so we know where to meet you.
All students have to be back in their flats by 10:00pm and there will be an evening check that everyone if there. Students will need to be in their bedrooms at 11:00pm. We will have night duty managers who will be on duty overnight and make sure that there are no problems.
There are several taxi companies available. Often there are taxis waiting outside Heathrow or services like Uber are available in the UK. Any other details regarding travel to campus can be found on our website.
No. Students are required to keep their phones on them at all times so an ambassador or the summer school team are able to contact you.
No, but it is highly recommended that you bring some form of device whether that is a laptop, tablet, iPad or phone to access the online resources and have internet access.
The free time is more for social time where the ambassadors will be doing organised activities for you to get to know each other and socialise with your friends around campus. This will vary day by day and will be indicated on the timetables.
