Summer School Ambassadors
A key part of the programme is our fantastic Summer School ambassador scheme. All Summer School ambassadors are existing Warwick students, currently studying a range of degree courses. Every year, our ambassadors are rated as one of the best parts of the programme! They are there to guide you through the programme, attend all the trips, run social activities and offer support and advice. They offer a fantastic insight into life as a student at Warwick - make sure to ask them any questions that you have about life at Warwick.
How does it work?
Each flat of students is allocated two ambassadors who will be the main points of contact and help you to settle into the programme. Between them, the ambassadors will join in all the planned social and cultural activities, as well as offering pastoral and wellbeing support. They will be there to meet and greet you from the start and will live alongside you in your flat for the duration of the Summer School. We also have Lead Ambassadors who provide an extra level of support and Night Managers who can provide any help and assistance during the night so there is 24-hour support available.
Summer School ambassadors also arrange informal entertainment, activities and ice-breakers in the evenings, including sports activities such as basketball, football, walks around campus, film nights, card games, and board games, so there is never a dull moment.
Our ambassadors are trained in safeguarding and are also fully DBS* checked.

Meet Ciara: Summer School Ambassador
Ciara worked as part of the Ambassador team when she was a final year Politics, Philosophy and Economics student. She had previously taken a year abroad in Lyon, had participated in the Warwick in Africa programme and was part of Warwick’s Student Fundraising Team. After graduating from Warwick, she took a position with Teach First, teaching maths.
“I applied to be an ambassador as I loved the international element of my course at Warwick, sitting in a seminar sharing ideas and perspectives from every corner of the world was great. The Pre-University Summer School brings together the next generation of Warwick students from all over the world. I felt excited by introducing new students to my university, and giving them their first taste of university life. The campus life is so unique at Warwick, and it allows students to have such an authentic feel of what university life would be like. They will meet and share ideas with fellow-students and also academics from all over the world. It’s an incredible place for an aspirational student to spend their Summer.”
