A Green Drink for a Green Reward
I got a lovely oat matcha latte from District Cafe with my reward voucher (top tip: a shot of vanilla adds a lovely sweetness!). I'm sipping it now and considering the (relatively) new Green Rewards Scheme. My overall verdict: I love it!
Anything that encourages us all to consider how to make little everyday actions more sustainable is a win in my book. Any large institution is going to create an impact on the world around us, and I'm confident the Sustainability team are doing an amazing job on an institutional level, so it's great to have some encouragement on an individual level.
The platform is easy to use, and almost gamifies sustainable actions, which will hopefully get more people on board! The weekly reminders to fill out your actions make for a nice moment of reflection and motivate me to keep doing the little things, even if it can sometimes feel so small in the grand scheme of things. Plus, the chance to win a free drink is a great motivation!

I learnt about Green rewards on one of the staff newsletter. I subscribe straight away as sustainability is a subject that I am passionate about. I thought it was a very good way to create a community, share experiences and ideas, while adding a bit of competition if we want to. Some people post some ideas of how to recycle some objects and any other great subjects about sustainability.
The fact that we receive an email each week to remind us to connect and be conscious of the effort we have done during the week, is a brilliant idea to stay engaged with the scheme. The website is full of information, I am sure that I haven’t discover everything about it yet.
I am very grateful that we have Green rewards to encourage people to take action for the planet and to make a difference in this world. Also, I knew when I’ve subscribed that we could win some vouchers but I never thought I would be one of the winner! Well, nice surprise to see that I won £5 voucher, which I decide to use to have a lovely breakfast in Café Gibbet Hill.

The Warwick Green rewards platform has been great at keeping me motivated to make sustainable choices and a great way to get ideas and inspiration for more ways to live sustainably both at work and at home. It’s easy to keep track of your actions and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I already do. It’s also great to see how this contributes to the wider university and the collective impact we’re having. It was also exciting to win a voucher in the prize draw and I was able to enjoy a completely free and delicious lunch and coffee at Eat Wise on campus!

I really enjoy taking a moment each week to reflect on my sustainable actions and to get inspired by what others across Warwick have shared. It makes me feel part of a wider community where our individual efforts add up to real collective impact. One of the things that surprised me most was realising just how many positive actions I was already doing without even noticing. The platform has helped me see the value in these everyday choices and motivated me to build on them further.
Since joining, I’ve added more sustainable choices into my daily life, such as litter picking in my local area, and have become much more conscious of waste around me. I now look for every opportunity to recycle – from soft plastics, batteries, and small electrical items – and I always try to choose second-hand before buying new. These are small steps, but over time they feel like they really add up!
Winning a prize through Green Rewards was such a lovely surprise. It felt like an encouraging nudge to keep going with these actions. I chose to spend my Warwick Food Group voucher on a lovely meal in NAIC, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable and rewarding, especially with their sustainability efforts.
