Mycelia Exhibition Presentation: Promoting ethnobotany and sustainability through art | Tuesday, 7th March, 1400-1500

Mycelia is a multimedia exhibition celebrating the relationship between humans and plants, and will be held on Wednesday 15th March, 17:00-20:00 in FAB0.20. During Green Week, Lewis Dobbs, a final-year Media and Creative Industries student and creator of the exhibition gave an introductory presentation for the exhibition.  

Hedgehogs are waking up! Spring has arrived and hedgehogs are beginning to wake up from hibernation. After living off their body fat during the winter, their quest for food can mean they travel around two miles a night. Which is why it is so important to create a hedgehog highway so they can move freely between gardens.

The first time that I got involved with practical conservation work, was the year that I graduated from Coventry Polytechnic (now Coventry University), in 1991.

I am a self-confessed hedgehog fan, we’ve lost a third of all our hedgehogs, Link opens in a new windowsince the millennium. I am passionate about helping to stop the decline of hedgehogs and other wildlife in our countryside. For me it’s about ensuring that the next generation can still get to see hedgehogs in the wild.
