Academic Promotions Support Workshops with WIE and WIHEA

The WIE Learning Circle supporting promotions and outreach, impact and engagement have teamed up with WIHEA for the second year to put on two paired online workshops to support anyone interested in putting forward a promotions case this year or in coming years.

The WIE workshop will focus on the criteria for impact, outreach and engagement and will be led by WIE Fellows who led on the review of the IOE strand of the criteria in 2021.

The WIHEA workshops will focus on the other aspects of the promotion criteria and will be chaired by Professor Letizia Gramaglia, director of WIHEA.

The dates of the workshops are:

Wednesday, 9 November – Promotion to Senior Teaching Fellow/Senior Research Fellow/Associate Professor

Wednesday, 16 November – Promotion to Reader or Professor

The WIE/WIHEA workshop timings below are the same for both of the above dates:

1300-1345 WIE led workshop focusing on the criteria for impact, outreach and engagement

1400-1445 WIHEA led workshop focusing on the criteria for research and scholarship, teaching and learning, and collegiality, leadership and management

Leadership in Action online seminar: Warwick Institute of Engagement

The National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) invites you to the second event in our ‘Leadership in Action’ online seminar series, which aims to provide an open and inspiring space to share practice and lessons for thoughtful leadership in public engagement.

The next online seminar will be on Thursday 10th November at 1.30 – 3pm and hosted by Professor Michael Scott and Dr Andrew Todd, Directors of the Warwick Institute of Engagement (WIE).

Michael and Andrew will discuss how they have, over the last 2 years, developed WIE as a pan-University hub for public and community engagement, supporting the delivery of the University of Warwick’s strategic objectives. Along with other speakers from the University and from the local region, they will share the work and activities undertaken by WIE to deliver high-quality engagement, collaboration and co-production across the University and its community partners.

WIE Networking Cafes

Warwick Institute of Engagement are hosting a new series of monthly Networking Cafes. These are chance for anyone with an interest in public engagement to get together for a coffee, lunch, or some cake and chat about public engagement. Each session will have a theme we're exploring, but these are intended as conversation starters and questions to connect people rather than a formal training session on the topic.

The first session is taking place on Thursday 20 October, 12:30-1:30pm, Wolfson Research Exchange. Sign up online and come join us!
