Challenges in mentoring teacher-research, and how to overcome them
Workshop by Ana García Stone and Richard Smith in the Research SIG track at IATEFL 2025, Edinburgh, 11 April 2025.
Abstract: Effective mentoring is challenging but essential if participation in teacher-research is to be widened. Via group discussion of case studies generated from reports of mentoring worldwide, participants in this workshop will share their own ideas and experiences, comparing practical solutions for authentic mentoring situations. Various resources and a support network for current and prospective mentors will also be introduced.
