Activities Privacy Statement

If you choose to undertake a volunteering activity through Warwick Volunteers (WV), the University of Warwick will process your personal data to record your participation and may contact you about your: participation, experience and other volunteering opportunities.

The legal basis for processing this personal data is consent which is obtained when you voluntarily sign up and/or legitimate interest. It is necessary for the performance of student membership and participation in the volunteer project(s) that WV processes your data.

Your personal data will not be shared or disclosed to any third parties external to the University of Warwick except project leaders (who may be other students or external organisations) for the purposes of running your chosen volunteer project(s), Membership Solutions Ltd who provide the membership database on behalf of the University of Warwick and Mailchimp, the email company which is used to send out the newsletter.

WV will share your personal data, including your name, ID number and email address internally within the University of Warwick’s Student Discipline team from time-to-time check of lists of volunteers to ensure there are no concerns over students wider behaviour that might reasonably be cause for concern and where there might be a risk to others when carrying out any volunteering activities.

Your personal data will be kept securely by the University of Warwick and will be retained in accordance with the University’s Records Retention Schedule.
