Miro, Mindomo, and Padlet: Alternative Platforms for Scaffolded Collaboration and Learning

About this session

Date: 22 May 2024

Presenters: Robert O'Toole

Main follow-up contact: Robert O'Toole

Overview: Padlet, Miro, and Mindomo are feature-rich tools for collaboratively gathering ideas in diverse media, reflecting, organising, and creating. Although it is possible to do this in an unstructured and entirely ad hoc. manner, it usually helps to create some guiding structure first - what we call "scaffolding". We can, to varying extents, remove or change the scaffolding as things develop. But it helps not to start with a completely blank page. Each of the tools provides patterns for this scaffolding. In this session we will look at these patterns and how to build on them to guide successful collaborations.
