A Pedagogical Exchange Day for Teachers of German at Warwick University

On Saturday July 2, we invite teachers to a day comprising multiple sessions, based in our new, state-of-the-art Faculty of Arts Building. This will be a part day event, running from 09:30 until 16:00 approx with a diverse and engaging programme (to follow), including (but not limited to)

• a welcome address from colleagues in Warwick German Studies, offering insights into the study of German at university today and the careers it can lead to;
• co-delivered pedagogy sessions for sharing methods, approaches and resources in a range of key teaching areas - developed in dialogue with colleagues from schools;
• presentation(s) by guest speakers, including colleagues from Goethe Institut and author Dilek Güngör
• exhibitions showing the range of outreach work and wider value of German Studies projects at Warwick;
• opportunities to network, discuss shared ideas and concerns and plan for future events and exchanges.

The programme will comprise plenary and parallel sessions, speaker-led and round-table discussions, based on school- and university-generated input: to this end we would welcome information from participants on what they would like to gain from pedagogy exchange sessions, on whether they would like to share, contribute or even chair a session. Staff of all levels of experience and seniority are welcome, from trainees and NQTs through to heads of department, and from schools from the state and independent sectors.
