CADRE Breakfast for all Arts PGRsMezzanine of FABAs part of the Arts Research Festival 2024 and the PG conferences and symposia taking place this May, the Centre for Arts Doctoral Research Excellence (CADRE) is offering a drop-in breakfast for Arts PGRs on Wednesday 22nd May, 9-10am, on the Mezzanine of FAB. PGR students in Arts are invited to come by for a hot or cold drink, pastry or breakfast roll (including a vegan option) - first come, first served! This will be an excellent networking opportunity which will keep your energy level up for the day. |

Textual Transgressions: Mistakes, Forgeries & CensorshipFAB5.49All staff and students are welcome to join us for the final Manuscript and Print Cultures Network event on Tuesday 11th June, 5.15pm (FAB 5.49) which comprises a number of short talks from researchers across the Faculty on the theme of Textual Transgressions. Afterwards there will be a social networking event in collaboration with the Centre for the Study of the Renaissance and includes refreshments. "Textual Transgressions: Mistakes, Forgeries & Censorship" Dr William Rupp (Liberal Arts) – “’A prodigy of one kind or another’: William Henry Ireland, the Shakespeare forgery scandal, and the desire for authenticity” Dr Jessica Wardaugh (SMLC) - "Fakes and Fantasies in French Print Culture, 1880–1900" Dr Anna Lafranchini (SMLC) - “Concealed translations, authorship, and copyright in Fascist Italy”, discusses examples of the 20th c. Italian translation rights trade for Anna's forthcoming book.

Ameena Gafoor Annual Lecture by H. E. Hon President Donald RamotarUniversity of Warwick, Social Sciences Building, Room S0.19The annual Ameena Gafoor Lecture will be given by H. E. Hon President Donald Ramotar with a talk on ‘Cheddi Jagan: Developmentalist and Political Visionary.’ This lecture will be held in Room S0.19, Social Sciences building, main campus, University of Warwick on Wednesday 22nd May, 5.15pm.
