The Centre was launched with a lecture by Professor Christine Geraghty entitled 'The Oxymoron of Old TV: Remembering and Forgetting in Television Studies', which reflected on the role of historical study in the discipline and for the centre's future work. We were also joined by Professor Matt Hills (Aberystwyth University) and Mr Iain Logie Baird (Curator of Television, National Media Museum, Bradford) who both offered words of support and encouragement for the Centre. The event was attended by key figures in the discipline, curators and staff and students from across Warwick and beyond, who joined us afterwards for drinks to celebrate the new centre. There was much discussion and hatching of future research and collaboration plans. Watch this space....
