Zeena Faulk
Biography Zeena is a PhD candidate in Translation Studies. She is jointly supervised by Dr. Chantal Wright and Professor Jo Angouri. Her doctoral thesis focuses on readers’ reactions to translated Iraqi satirical blogs. The thesis is part of a larger project that examines how contemporary satirical discourse in the Middle East might be translated for English-language audiences. Zeena has 14 years of experience in translation and interpretation. Her previous positions include managing editor positions with both Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic in the United States where she managed large-scale translation projects for the healthcare industry. Additionally, she has served as an on-site interpreter for various criminal courts in the United States. She is a certified medical interpreter in the United States. She also worked as an instructor of Arabic in the United States and English-language literatures in Iraq. |
