Brett Granstaff
Bio
Brett has spent the past twenty years as an actor/writer/director and most notably as a creative producer in Hollywood. Brett attended NYU and graduated with a BFA(with Honors) in film and television production. After completing several projects with Emmett Furla Films (EFF) and Cross Creek Pictures, Brett chose to further his expertise by getting his MBA from the prestigious Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge.
Over the past seven years, he has produced and written films that have starred everyone from Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Kevin Bacon and Dakota Johnson, to Bruce Willis, Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, Liam Hemsworth, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, and Robert DeNiro.
Brett has been guest lecturer at Cambridge since 2015, and after enjoying his time teaching, he has decided to take a break from Hollywood and join academia for a while. He joins the Warwick Writing Programme to pursue a PhD in Screenwriting by Practice and will be researching Hollywood cinema, biopics, adaptations, anti-heroes, and non-traditional narratives in screen writing.
