The School for Cross-Faculty Studies hosts the Osun State University’s former Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Visiting Fellowship

The Global Sustainable Development department in the School for Cross-Faculty Studies has been awarded a visiting fellowship for Dr Anthony Kola-Olusanya of Osun State University (Nigeria) as part of the School's focus on interdisciplinary approaches to Global Sustainability.

Professor Anthony Kola-Olusanya, the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic, Research, Innovation and Partnerships (ARIP) and Professor of Environmental Sustainability at the Global Affairs and Sustainable Development Institute (GASDI) at Osun State University, is a scholar with expertise in environmental sustainability education, sustainable development, and indigenous environmental knowledge.

His transformative research on sustainable development, Indigenous stewardship, and socio-ecological resilience aligns with the United Nations SDGs, and he has been widely published and active in leading organizations such as the Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences.

Professor Kola-Olusanya will be visiting the Warwick campus from April 23rd to May 30th, where he will be participating in collaborative workshops and working with Warwick researchers to advance a range of issues also championed by the School including migration studies, conflict and peace studies and Indigenous-informed environmental policies.

Dr Jane Webb, the Head of the School for Cross-faculty Studies who initially extended the invitation to Professor Kola-Olusanya, commented:

"It is fantastic to have found such synergies with the Global Affairs and Sustainable Development Institute (GASDI) at Osun State University. We hope that Professor Kola-Olusanya's visit will be the start of a long and meaningful relationship that helps drive global and interdisciplinary perspectives on the impact of climate change".
