Global Sustainable Development and Community, Engagement, and Belonging Masters students celebrate their graduation in 2025
On Friday 24th January we saw our 2023/24 Masters students – which included our first ever cohort of Community, Engagement, and Belonging students - celebrate the end of their studies as part of the University of Warwick’s 2025 Winter degree ceremonies.
The ceremony, which took place at Butterworth Hall on Warwick’s campus, also saw Clive Stannard receive an honorary degree in recognition of his significant contribution to global food security and interdisciplinary scholarship. The School for Cross-Faculty Studies recently hosted Clive as a guest presenter, where he spoke about his fascinating interdisciplinary career and the benefits of having a range of skills and experiences.
The graduation celebrations continued with an awards-giving ceremony and refreshments in the Ramphal Building foyer. Prizes were given to students whose MASc dissertations or projects received the highest marks in their category and cohort and to the students with the highest overall scores for their degree programme.
The winners included:
- Lils Dobber for Highest Overall Mark and Dissertation Capstone mark in Community, Engagement, and Belonging
- Alice Davidson for Highest Overall Mark and Best Research Dissertation Capstone in GSD
- Jess Taylor for Best Mark in the Workplace Project Capstone in GSD
- Theresa Cocola for Best Practice-Based Project Capstone in GSD
Dr Marta Guerriero, Head of GSD, commented:
“Many congratulations to our GSD PGT graduates, for achieving such an important milestone! As an incredibly diverse group of students, they have truly impressed us with their commitment, hard work and passion, and with their wonderful ability to support and inspire each other. It has been a real privilege and pleasure to act as their Personal Tutor this year, and see them grow into incredible scholars and professionals, committed to leading sustainable change with their lives.”
Dr William Rupp, our Director of Postgraduate Studies for Liberal Arts, commented:
“Getting to share in the celebrations of our first cohort of CEB graduates was a privilege. Their work was outstanding, showing a breadth of ideas and depth of engagement with critical aspects of how we understand and foster community, engagement, and belonging. They also underscored the importance that focusing on such ideas has both locally and globally. We’re incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing where they go from here.”
Many congratulations to all our students who graduated this year. We wish you luck in your future endeavours and are excited to witness where your paths take you next!
