Join us for a fascinating talk by Dr Priti Parikh, Associate Professor at UCL's Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction. During the talk, Dr Parikh will present her research.
Dr. Parikh has been awarded a prestigious five year Senior Research fellowship co-funded by industry (BBOXX) and Royal Academy of Engineering. The fellowship titled Smart Solar Solutions for all (S34ALL) focuses on smart solar solutions for resource challenged communities combining machine learning based models with consumer surveys.
Dr. Parikh has expertise in infrastructure (water, sanitation and energy) for resource constrained settings such as slums and rural communities in Africa and Asia. She is also leading research on developing evidence base to link SDG's and infrastructure.
She was Co-Investigator on the PANChSHEEEL project funded by MRC/GCRF which is looking at integrated health, education, engineering and environmental interventions to improve feeding practices for infants in India. She is Co-Investigator on the IsuLabantu project funded by ESRC/NRF which looks at self upgrading participatory processes for informal settlements in South Africa. She is also Co-Investigator on the Resilient Schools project in Indonesia where she is exploring WASH solutions for building resilient schools post disaster.
The seminar is being jointly organised by the Early Career Researcher Network on Environment Related SDGs and the Institute for Global Sustainable Development.
