Interactional Competence

(Summer 2024)

Our PGRs from Applied Linguistics ran this nuanced continuing professional learning event, focussing on successful interaction and communication with students, including group work facilitation. This session was part of our 'GTA Tips and Tricks' series, bringing PGR teachers together from across the Faculties.

active bystander

Active Bystander training

(Summer 2024)

We teamed up with CVEP, to deliver a bespoke programme for PGR teachers, Active Bystander in the Teaching Space, supporting early career colleagues to find strategies to deal with unwanted and discriminatory behaviours in the learning environment. We presented our partnership work at Warwick's Inclusion Conference 2024.

GTA ID

GTA Identity workshop

(Spring 2024)

We sponsored our PhD colleagues from Sociology to run this enhancing and novel all day workshop exploring GTA identities via a range of interventions such as an 'agony aunt' based dialogue, a campus walk, and a zine making workshop. PGR teachers and other colleagues reflected on their own positionality and role.

teacher tales

Teacher Tales

(Summer 2023)

We commissioned 10 PGR teachers from across the Faculties at Warwick to author some 'Teacher Tales': narratives from their distinct teaching spaces. Authors were supported in their editing by one of our PGR Teacher Mentors. We are due to publish the Teacher Tales on our Moodle page in 2024!

journal workshop

JPPP Author's forum

(Summer 2023)

Before every issue of the JPPP we invite the selected authors to come together in a forum designed to support them to develop their papers. Our forum is hybrid meaning authors from across the globe could come together with Warwick scholars.

GTA manual

Tips and Tricks Manual

(Spring 2023)

Building on the success of the Tips and Tricks series, one of our PGR Teacher Champions authored a booklet for her department, the School of Law, designed to support brand new GTAs in their role. The booklet continues to be distributed to all new GTAs in Law, and supports their understanding of things like teaching techniques, training, pay and conditions.
