This event took place on Thursday 8 June 2023, 12:00-13:30 in the Council Chambers, Senate House
Who was this Seminar aimed at: This is an open event and aimed at Academics and those with an interest in public health
We were delighted to host Bethany Howard, a visiting Monash Warwick Alliance colleague, for a WIHEA seminar. Bethany is an education-focused Lecturer of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. As the chair of industry experiences/engagement, her work focuses on enhancing student employability through experiential and authentic learning.
In this presentation, Bethany provided an overview of what Monash University, and particularly the School of Public Health, are doing to support students to tackle global challenges. This included addressing the importance of intercultural and interdisciplinary learning and providing rich immersive experiences. Whilst there are many opportunities for this kind of learning, there are also numerous challenges, and Bethany explored these throughout the presentation.
