WIHEA Masterclass: Wellbeing in the Teaching & Learning Environment

Pedagogies and Strategies for the Classroom and Beyond

In this Masterclass on Wellbeing Pedagogies and Strategies, Elena shared her understanding and ideas about how to foster positive Wellbeing in the Teaching and Learning environment for both students and staff. These were drawn from her pedagogic research about students’ Wellbeing in educational settings as well as practice, including her experience of devising and delivering the module ‘Understanding Wellbeing’.

Attendees had the opportunity to think about and design Wellbeing Strategies for their own educational setting.

 

Dr Elena Riva

Elena is a Senior Teaching Fellow and Director of Studies at the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning, WIHEA Fellow, and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She develops modules, events, and activities that explore complex and global scientific topics and issues, from genetic technologies to wellbeing, creating connections between the scientific disciplines and the humanities.

Elena was the recipient of the 2018 Warwick Teaching Excellence Award and she was also awarded the honour of the Butterworth Award.
