Upcoming event: E2E Interfaces: A Post-Digital Design Workshop
Date and location: Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Germany, Sunday 02.02.2020, Time: 12:00 to 15:00
CIM researchers Michael Dieter, Nerea Calvillo and Nathaniel Tkacz have organised a workshop at Transmediale Festival 2020 in Berlin on post-digital design and interface criticism. A sequel of sorts to the CIM event 'Card Decks as Method - Strategies for Interface Critique' from last year (https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/cross_fac/cim/events/carddecksasmethod/), they will launch a prototype interface criticism deck on the day with assistance from Christian Ulrik Andersen, Florian Hadler, Søren Bro Pold and Tatjana Seitz. Register for participation on the Transmediale website.
Description: E2E Interfaces: A Post-Digital Design Workshop offers a space for collectively recuperating historical potentials and reimagining futures for interaction design. How might the methodologies of user experience design (UX) aimed at driving engagement, capturing attention, and prefiguring experience be reclaimed, diverted or undermined? How can we build collective enunciations of interface critique, and establish alternatives to the current configurations of platform capitalism and its onto-epistemologies of control? What are the possibilities for an emerging paradigm of post-digital design? This session welcomes designers, artists, media studies researchers, software developers and programmers, students, media historians, or anyone with an interest in the future of the interface.
