Chiara Poletti (Post-Doctoral Research Assistant)

I joined CIM in May 2021 as postdoctoral researcher in the ORA funded project: ‘Shaping 21st century AI: Shaping 21st Century AI: Controversy and Closure in Research, Policy and Media’

Research Interest

I am interested in exploring different social research methodologies. My main research focuses on digital social data, and social media platforms governance. In my PhD project I mapped controversies about social media platforms’ freedom of expression and content regulation. Previously, I have studied public discourse about free speech on twitter in the aftermath of terroristic attacks. I have also worked on research on health professional education policies and food sustainability.

Background

I hold a PhD in Sociology and a MSc in social research methods from Cardiff University, a MA in International Relations and a BA in Sociology from the University of Trento (Italy). I have worked in development and cooperation in Brussels and Belgrade.
