Des Hewitt

As Head of Primary and Early Years Teacher Education at the University of Warwick, Des places teaching and learning at the heart of his work. With over 30 years teaching experience in schools and Universities, he has been recognized for his national and international profile in Teacher Education. He was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy and is a Professor of Teacher Education at the University of Warwick. More recently Des became a founding Fellow of the Warwick Institute for Engagement.

Kath Wheatley

Kath has been a Senior Leader within outstanding primary settings for over 20 years. She has been a Lead SENDCo and trainer for the local authority and, throughout her career she has been involved in mentoring and coaching to improve teaching and learning within primary settings. Kath is now working with schools to develop Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). She is passionate about making a difference to the way in which climate education and sustainable life styles are being addressed within the curriculum, including connecting with nature. With two published children’s books, Kath delivers workshops and training within schools as a visiting author and consultant.
