Introduction to Teaching and Learning for Administrative Staff: Higher Education CPD Framework

Photo of Jess HumphreysThis project focuses on providing a framework for administrative staff who support and/or participate in teaching and learning activities and will enable them to work towards Associate Fellowship status of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). Participants will be supported in curating their own journey through the programme, accessing both existing LDC workshops and newly developed skills and support sessions. These sessions include introductory workshops, reflective writing skills workshop and a skills analysis workshop together with opportunities to share practice in the Hub sessions. The framework will be tailored to the programme's participants and will enable administrative staff to identify, develop and celebrate their skills in the delivery and support of teaching and learning through professional accreditation in the form of the AFHEA. The project is a collaborative effort between the Learning Development Centre and Dr Rebecca Fisher from Student Admissions and Recruitment Office.

The framework will enable participants to gain an understanding of teaching and learning practices, provide an opportunity for staff to develop skills, facilitate engagement with the student experience, offer an opportunity to reflect on their own practice and provide an opportunity for collaboration with colleagues from across the institution.
