Amy’s main role at the point she left IATL was as Event Manager (maternity cover until April 2017) for the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR), an exclusively undergraduate forum designed to showcase the very best in undergraduate research. ICUR 2016 was held on 27 & 28 September and allowed participants to present their research to an international and interdisciplinary audience: joining together students from nine universities, across five continents. ICUR was recognised in 2017 by the Institute of International Education (IIE) as being an example of best practice in international education and was awarded an Honourable Mention, in the International Partnerships category of the Andrew Heiskell Awards.

Amy also worked as the Managing Editor of Reinvention: an International Journal of Undergraduate Research (maternity cover until April 2017). Reinvention is an online, peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to the publication of high-quality undergraduate research from around the world. It is published through IATL as part of the Monash-Warwick Alliance. Working with an international team of students, Amy was responsible for publication of the journal twice per year in April and October, as well as regular special issues.

In October 2016 Amy worked with colleagues to help facilitate a five-day event at Leuphana University, Germany for members of the BLASTER (Best Liberal Arts and Science Teaching Expanded and Reinforced) project. This event brought together staff and student experts from European partner institutions (including members of the Reinvention Editorial Board) to showcase and develop a guide to best practice in undergraduate research. This project is ongoing and a BLASTER special issue of Reinvention is due for release in July 2017.

In her previous role as IATL Office Manager, Amy dealt with departmental enquiries, processed financial bookings and payroll claims, put together a marketing strategy to help communicate the department's work, managed IATL’s Student as Producer (Research, Performance & Collaboration) funding streams and Performance Festival Bursaries and maintained and managed bookings of IATL's teaching and learning spaces.

Amy was involved in a number of projects related to the use of teaching and learning spaces during her time in IATL. From 2010-2011 she provided administrative support for the Open Space Learning (OSL) project and from 2012-2014 she managed a team of Classroom Stewards to help support innovative teaching taking place in the - then newly refurbished - classrooms in the Ramphal Building.

From May 2014 Amy worked collaboratively with IATL colleagues - Dr Rebecca Fisher, Naomi de la Tour and Philip Gaydon - to co-create the transdisciplinary teaching and learning project 'The Dark Would' which was featured in the Times Higher Education. In April 2016 she attended CounterPlay (Aarhus, Denmark) to further explore the transformative nature of play and subsequently worked with colleagues to create a 'playbox' of resources to support and inspire more playful methods of teaching and learning.

With an educational background in Art & Design and completing a part-time degree in Environmental Studies at the point she left IATL, Amy understands the benefits of a more connected and holistic approach to learning. She is passionate about learning that empowers, challenges and reimagines norms, be they disciplinary boundaries or traditional hierarchies of knowledge.
